Second Issue: October 10, 1863 to February 23, 1867 

Four varieties are known:
1. Without small numbers on bottom corners of the back
    Fine $15.50 | VF $20.00 | EF $30.00 | AU $40.00 | New $50.00 | Gem New $60.00
2. With small numbers on bottom corners of the back ("18" left and "63" right)
    Fine $15.00 | VF $20.00 | EF $30.00 | AU $40.00 | New $50.00 | Gem New $60.00
3. Same as Variety No. 2 with an additional "S" on the back
    Fine $17.50 | VF $25.00 | EF $30.00 | AU $45.00 | New $60.00 | Gem New $100.00
4. Same as Variety No. 2 with an additional "R-1" on the back
    Fine $30.50 | VF $50.00 | EF $50.00 | AU $75.00 | New $200.00 | Gem New $300.00

Variety 4 was printed on heavier stock known as "Fiber Paper."  The fronts of these notes were overprinted with a thick, bronze-colored oval surrounding Washington's head.  The backs were overprinted with a large "5" outlined in bronze.  The following numbers/letters may or may not appear on the backs of these notes, as listed above: "S" or "R" in the upper left corner; "1" in the upper right corner; "18" in the lower left corner; and "63" in the lower right corner.  The most desirable examples have perfect centering of the design elements, perfect centering of the bronze overprints, and heavy overprints with rich, unfaded, bronze colors.
